Starting point

Sparkasse Oberösterreich completely stripped out its headquarters on the Promenade in Linz and fitted it with modern office and energy systems.

The focus was on resources: whatever the building contained should be reused wherever possible. Heritage protection requirements applied as well.

Objective

  • Capture the entire building with all relevant components and materials.
  • Decide which materials to keep, recycle or sell.
  • Do it without holding up construction.

Approach

qapture digitised the building completely with 3D laser scanners. In the digital twin, components and materials were detected and classified with AI support.

Floors were classified and quantities determined. Carpets were industrially cleaned and prepared for other branches, stone floors turned into kitchen worktops, emergency exit signs reused in the new building.

What came of it

Many building materials and inventory items were reused or recycled, cutting material costs and waste.

The digital twin was the central data basis for project coordination and further planning.

Most buildings run on outdated data. Yours does not have to.
