An administrative building was to be refurbished. The available records came from several decades and several design offices.
Which figure applied could not be decided. Areas from the lease, dimensions from the construction drawing and the on-site condition disagreed in several places.
Objective
- Establish a single valid basis all parties refer to.
- Put the refurbishment planning on verified dimensions before the tender runs.
Approach
It started with the strategy phase. We clarified which level of information need the refurbishment planning actually requires, and which component groups manage without LOIN 400.
Capture ran terrestrially with georeferencing. The as-built model with area schedule was derived from the point cloud.
The deviations between legacy drawing and as-is condition are documented. Where a figure changed, the reason is traceable.
What came of it
The refurbishment planning runs on the digital twin.
The twin remains in use after the refurbishment as an operational basis.
